Sundance-winner ’Last Men in Aleppo’ and Syrian musicians to open CPH:DOX
On March 15, CPH:DOX in collaboration with DR Koncerthuset, Normann Copenhagen & Roskilde Festival, will mark 6-years since the Syrian revolution with the European Premiere of the Grand Jury-Prize winner ’Last Men in Aleppo’ at the festival’s annual Opening Gala at DR Koncerthall.

Today, two investigative films were added to the programme: the world premiere of a Norwegian exposé about the dark side of the pharmaceutical industry and the European premiere of a radical French documentary-thriller about the porn industry.

CPH:DOX’s concert series AUDIO:VISUALS are taking shape – now with two films and subsequent concerts added to the programme. This year, CPH:DOX will once again offer a cornucopia of music documentaries and live concerts.
CPH:DOX puts the focus on the rise of populism with ‘POWER TO THE PEOPLE’
As CPH:DOX embarks on its 14th edition, which will take place March 16-26, it will as always be with a special series that put into perspective, analyse and discuss the brand new political movements and the state of society.
One of these series will this year be entitled ‘POWER TO THE PEOPLE’, focused on the rise of populism in the West and all the ramifications it has caused. The final programme of the theme will be published March 1, but we can already reveal a number of key films today.
CPH:DOX & Normann Copenhagen launch Denmark’s first pop up designer sofa cinema
Throughout the 11 days you can watch films and recline on designer sofas when CPH:DOX and Normann Copenhagen invite you to ‘their Social Cinema’ at Kunsthal Charlottenborg.
This new cinematic experience, the ‘Social Cinema’, encourages laid-back and social film experiences that (quite literally) brings the audience closer together. It will be a cinematic experience quite unlike any other, and also the country’s first social sofa cinema.

CPH:DOX, European Film Market, International Film Festival Rotterdam and Cinemathon have joined forces and launched the Propellor Film Tech Hub, a one-of-a-kind innovation platform for the development of new business models for production, distribution and experience of films. The Propellor Film Tech Hub transfers established innovation strategies from the start-up world and focuses on the cross section between film and technology as a breeding ground for new business models. It aims to become the missing link between the film industry and the latest technological trends and new forms of social interactions.
