Monos
Monos
2019 LFF OFFICIAL COMPETITION WINNER

Taking the prestigious LFF Official Competition prize, Monos is a hallucinogenic, intoxicating thriller about child soldiers, from Columbian-Ecuadorian director Alejandro Landes.

High in the mountains of South America, a motley group of young soldiers train and wait for instruction. This might be some teen rave gone feral, but for the deadly seriousness underlined by the presence of an American hostage (the always on-form Julianne Nicholson).

A wildly original vision from Landes and screenwriter Alexis dos Santos, together with Mica Levi’s visceral score, creates an unforgettable cinematic experience.
