Eggers je privukao pozornost publike i kritike impresivnim debijem, horor dramom Vje\u0161tica. U prilog mu zasigurno ide zasi\u0107enost dijela publike komercijalnijim uspje\u0161nicama kao \u0161to su adaptacije stripova i beskona\u010dna recikla\u017ea remakeova. Eggers jasno daje do znanja da mu komercijalni blockbuster formati nisu (zasad) na umu i uspijeva s drugim filmom napraviti odmak ne samo od aktualnih kino hitova ve\u0107 i svog prvog filma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ne mogu pobje\u0107i dojmu da je Svjetionik inspiriran Bergmanovom filmografijom do mjere da u odre\u0111enim kadrovima djeluje kao (mnogo slabiji) hommage dok su druge asocijacije Andaluzijski pas i Isijavanje.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; width: 100%;\" src=\" https:\/\/i.postimg.cc\/g2H40pJG\/svjetionik11.jpg \" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Film nudi rasko\u0161no kinematografsko iskustvo \u2013 kamera, scenografija, kostimografija, monta\u017ea \u2013 dobivamo savr\u0161enstvo s tehni\u010dke strane. Crno-bijela tehnika djeluje kao dobar izbor za izgradnju atmosfere (goti\u010dka tjeskoba i mitolo\u0161ke prijetnje u maniri Poea i Lovecrafta).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ono \u0161to film ne nudi \u2013 razra\u0111en scenarij i suvislu cjelinu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pri\u010da prati dvojicu \u010duvara svjetionika \u2013 Ephraima (Robert Pattison) i Thomasa (Willem Dafoe) dok u osami tonu u ludilo a njihova \u010detverotjedna smjena pretvara se (doslovno) u Sizifov posao. Odnosno, trebali bi tonuti u ludilo prema scenariju koji se poziva na motive izolacije i sindrom groznice brvnare no likovi otpo\u010detka pokazuju demenciju koja odmakom radnje prelazi u karikaturu ludila. Isto tako, likovi su skloni stereotipnim devijacijama \u2013 Thomas je logoreji\u010dni \u010dangrizavi starac, Ephraim je sadist i erotoman, obojica su skloni alkoholizmu. Izvedbe Dafoea i Pattisona na momente su briljantne ali grani\u010de s preglumljavanjem. Od prvog verbalnog duela, dvojac izlije\u0107e s izrazito teatralnom glumom, primjerenom izvedbi gr\u010dke tragedije. Nastojat \u0107u izbje\u0107i usporedbe s Vje\u0161ticom &#8211; osim sporog razvoja radnje i malobrojne gluma\u010dke postave, filmovi nemaju mnogo toga zajedni\u010dkog. Vje\u0161tica je lansirala mladu Anyu Taylor-Joy me\u0111u najtra\u017eenije nove talente Hollywooda no cijela postava odli\u010dno je odradila posao, bez dojma isforsiranosti.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Svjetionik u glavnim ulogama ima vru\u0107u robu, Roberta Pattisona (koji izborom uloga odaje dojam da je u stalnom iskupljenju za Sumrak) i gluma\u010dku ikonu Willema Dafoea koji mo\u017eda hvata zadnji vlak za Oscara. Pretenciozna nota u izvedbama nije neo\u010dekivana. Dijalog u kojem Pattisonov lik spo\u010ditava Dafoeu da mu je dosta njegovih pri\u010da, pi\u0107a i prdaca sigurno \u0107e biti materijal za prikazivanje na nekom satu glume no ve\u0107ina filma djeluje kao eksperiment na satu glume.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nazna\u010deno je da likovi trebaju zaroniti u ludilo s neke linije suvislosti. Gdje je ona? Ephraim i Thomas od po\u010detnih devijacija prelaze u karikature. Dijalozi nude poetiku i crni humor ali svode se na repetitivna sukobljavanja.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Film dr\u017ei pa\u017enju sna\u017enim estetskim rje\u0161enjima, inspiriranim slikarstvom simbolizma i surealizma. Snovi\u0111enja i no\u0107ne more likova, isprepletene s motivima iz gr\u010dke mitologije unikatno su iskustvo za gledatelja. Estetika Svjetionika fantasti\u010dno je do\u010darana i bit \u0107e dovoljna publici sklonoj style over substance formatima da prihvati film kao remek-djelo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No, \u010darobna estetika ne mo\u017ee pokriti neartikuliran scenarij. Svjetionik se na po\u010detku predstavlja kao horor, zatim fantasti\u010dna drama no film je najpo\u0161tenije odrediti kao arthouse uradak. \u017danrovski hibridi nisu isto \u0161to i nemanje \u017eanra kao takvog. Je li u su\u0161tini Svjetionika doista izolacija? Groznica brvnare? Studija li\u010dnosti? Reprodukcija mita? Dijelu publike nedore\u010denost \u0107e djelovati intelektualno. Ne\u0107u iskoristiti izraz \u201eza\u010dudan\u201c jer sam obo\u017eavatelj mnogih za\u010dudnih filma\u0161a \u2013 Davida Lyncha, Davida Cronenberga, Park-Chan Wooka. Lista je duga\u010dka. Eggers Svjetionikom nije postigao \u017eeljenu za\u010dudnost nego neartikuliranost. Ako bacite pogled na IMDB stranicu filma, velik broj odu\u0161evljenih gledatelja isti\u010de da nema pojma o \u010demu se film radi. Je li to uspjeh ili publika ne skriva da je pseudointelektualna?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">U kona\u010dnici, Eggers nudi osvje\u017eenje od komercijalnih kino hitova i u\u010dvr\u0161\u0107uje se u redu prepoznatljivih novih redatelja, u zajedni\u010dkoj klupi s Yorgosom Lanthimosom, Arijem Asterom, Jennifer Kent. Majstor je atmosfere i vizualnih rje\u0161enja no drugim filmom nije zadr\u017eao po\u010detnu kvalitetu.
