Film Vrapci<\/em><\/strong> R\u00fanara R\u00fanarssona<\/strong>, islandsko-dansko-hrvatska koprodukcija o \u0161esnaestogodi\u0161njaku razvedenih roditelja koji nevoljko posje\u0107uje oca u udaljenom Westfjordsu (a u kojem je jednu od uloga ostvario i Rade \u0160erbed\u017eija<\/strong>), nakon svjetske premijere na jednom od najzna\u010dajnijih filmskih festivala \u2013 onom u Torontu \u2013 ne prestaje nizati uspjehe! Na nedavno zavr\u0161enom Filmskom festivalu u Var\u0161avi<\/strong> ovjen\u010dan je glavnom nagradom, a osvojio je i Zlatnu \u0161koljku za najbolji film u San Sebastianu<\/strong>. Zagreba\u010dkoj premijeri na nadolaze\u0107em ZFF-u prisustvovat \u0107e redatelj filma R\u00fanar R\u00fanarsson<\/strong>, glumac Ingvar Eggert Sigur\u00f0sson<\/strong> (koji tuma\u010di otu\u0111enog oca), islandski i danski producenti, kao i hrvatski koproducent Igor A. Nola<\/strong>. R\u00fanarsson<\/strong> se na ZFF vra\u0107a nakon tri godine; naime, 2012. za Zlatna kolica natjecao se njegov debitantski film Vulkan<\/em>, a 2008. u kratkometra\u017enoj sekciji ZFF-a i njegov kratki film Dvije ptice<\/em>. ZFF-ovoj publici od pro\u0161le je godine, kada je u natjecateljskom programu predstavljao film O konjima i ljudima<\/em>, poznat i glumac Sigur\u00f0sson<\/strong>; ova je upe\u010datljivo-uvrnuta islandska komedija naposljetku i nagra\u0111ena posebnim priznanjem lanjskog ZFF-ovog \u017eirija.<\/p>\n
Izvan konkurencije \u0107e se zagreba\u010dkoj publici, nakon premijere na Pulskom filmskom festivalu, predstaviti i omnibus Zagreba\u010dke pri\u010de vol. 3<\/em><\/strong>. Nastale nakon prethodna dva omnibusa, tre\u0107e Zagreba\u010dke pri\u010de<\/em> uklju\u010duju \u0161est kratkometra\u017enih filmova s redateljskim potpisima Ivana Salaja<\/strong>, Vlatke Vorkapi\u0107<\/strong>, Petra Ore\u0161kovi\u0107a<\/strong>, Matije Vuk\u0161i\u0107a<\/strong>, Danila \u0160erbed\u017eije<\/strong> i Radislava Jovanova Gonza<\/strong>, a koje tematski povezuje motiv praznika.<\/p>\n
I ove \u0107e godine u nacionalnom natjecateljskom programu Kockice<\/strong> svoje nove filmove predstaviti niz doma\u0107ih autora i autorica; izme\u0111u ostalih, ovogodi\u0161nje Kockice uklju\u010dit \u0107e i filmove Belladonna<\/em><\/strong>, debitantsko ostvarenje monta\u017eerke Dubravke Turi\u0107<\/strong> progla\u0161eno najboljim kratkometra\u017enim filmom u programu Horizonti 72. venecijanske Mostre<\/strong>, te Piknik<\/em><\/strong> Jure Pavlovi\u0107a<\/strong>, \u010diji je prvi profesionalni kratki film Pola ure za baku<\/em> prikazan u programu Kockica 2010. Piknik<\/em><\/strong> kroz pri\u010du o petnaestogodi\u0161njem Emiru i njegovom ocu koji izdr\u017eava zatvorsku kaznu u Sarajevu ocrtava kli\u0161eje patrijarhalnog Balkana, a premijerno je prikazan u slu\u017ebenoj konkurenciji programa Generation 14plus<\/strong> ovogodi\u0161njeg Berlinalea<\/strong>. Radnja Belladonne<\/em><\/strong> pak prati tri \u017eene razli\u010dite dobi i porijekla koje se igrom slu\u010daja zateknu u oftamolo\u0161koj \u010dekaonici i sasvim neo\u010dekivano do\u017eive mali trenutak bliskosti. Film ime dijeli s nazivom za o\u010dne kapi koje se koriste kod oftamolo\u0161kih pregleda, a koje potje\u010du jo\u0161 iz vremena renesanse, kada su ih u\u010destalo koristile dvorske \u017eene kako bi im o\u010di izgledale krupnije i ljep\u0161e, no na \u0161tetu vlastitog vida. Belladonna je ujedno i naziv otrovne biljke koja se koristila za njihovu izradu, a u filmu Dubravke Turi\u0107 ona je simbol krhkosti na\u0161ih uvrije\u017eenih shva\u0107anja i predrasuda.<\/p>\n

CROATIAN FILMS AND LOCAL PRODUCTIONS AT 13TH ZFF!
\nThis year\u2019s Zagreb Film Festival competition again includes several Croatian films and co-productions, and this year at the festival they will be presented by their authors and film crew members!<\/p>\nA new film by Bosnian and Herzegovinian director Ines Tanovi\u0107<\/strong>, also her feature fiction debut \u2013 Our Everyday Life <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 is running for the Golden Pram in the feature film category. The author took a story about a family from Sarajevo trying to tackle the post-war daily life in Bosnia almost to a symbolic level of many idiosyncratic individual destinies of the transitional Balkan society. The film stars Uliks Fehmiu<\/strong>, the son of famous actor Bekim Fehmiu (best known to the broader audience for his role of Beli Bora in Aleksandar Sa\u0161a Petrovi\u0107\u2019s I Even Met Happy Gypsies<\/em>), with Emir Had\u017eihafizbegovi\u0107 <\/strong>as his father. The cast also includes Croatian actors Nina Violi\u0107, Goran Bogdan <\/strong>and Goran Navojec<\/strong>. Even though this is a film debut, Ines Tanovi\u0107 is not a stranger on the local scene: her documentary film Exhibition <\/em>screened in Cannes and A Day on the Drina<\/em> won ZagrebDox\u2019s Big Stamp.<\/p>\n
The film Sparrows<\/em><\/strong> by R\u00fanar R\u00fanarsson<\/strong>, an Icelandic-Danish-Croatian co-production about a sixteen-year-old boy, a child of divorced parents, who reluctantly visits his father in remote Westfjords (the cast also includes Rade \u0160erbed\u017eija<\/strong>), after its world premiere at one of the most important film festivals \u2013 the one in Toronto \u2013 has been writing an amazing success story! Recently at Warsaw Film Festival<\/strong> it won the main award, as well as the Golden Shell for best film in San Sebastian<\/strong>. The Zagreb premiere at the upcoming ZFF will be attended by the film\u2019s director R\u00fanar R\u00fanarsson<\/strong>, actor Ingvar Eggert Sigur\u00f0sson <\/strong>(playing the estranged father), Icelandic and Danish producers, as well as the Croatian co-producer Igor A. Nola. R\u00fanarsson <\/strong>returns to ZFF after three years; in 2012 his debut film Volcano <\/em>competed for the Golden Pram, and in 2008 ZFF\u2019s short section screened his film Two Birds<\/em>. ZFF\u2019s audience is also familiar with actor Sigur\u00f0sson<\/strong>, who last year presented the film Of Horses and Men<\/em> \u2013 this impressively twisted Icelandic comedy finally won ZFF\u2019s jury special mention.<\/p>\n
Out of competition, the audience will also have a chance to see the omnibus Zagreb Stories Vol. 3<\/em><\/strong>, after it premiered at Pula Film Festival. Following the previous two omnibuses, the third Zagreb Stories<\/em><\/strong> include six short films directed by Ivan Salaj, Vlatka Vorkapi\u0107, Petar Ore\u0161kovi\u0107, Matija Vuk\u0161i\u0107, Danilo \u0160erbed\u017eija <\/strong>and Radislav Jovanov Gonzo<\/strong>, connected thematically by the motif of holidays.<\/p>\n
The national Checkers <\/strong>competition again presents the latest film by many Croatian filmmakers, including Belladonna<\/em><\/strong>, editor Dubravka Turi\u0107<\/strong>\u2019s debut, which won the best short film award in Mostra\u2019s Horizons <\/strong>section in Venice, and Picnic <\/em><\/strong>by Jure Pavlovi\u0107<\/strong>, whose first professional short film Half an Hour for Grandma<\/em> screened in Checkers in 2010. Picnic <\/em><\/strong>is a story of fifteen-year-old Emir and his father who serves a prison sentence in Sarajevo. This fine portrayal of patriarchal Balkan clich\u00e9s premiered in this year\u2019s Berlinale Generation 14plus <\/strong>competition. Belladonna<\/em><\/strong> follows three women of different age and origin who accidentally meet in an ophthalmologist\u2019s waiting room and quite unexpectedly experience a small moment of intimacy. The film was named after the eye drops used in ophthalmological examinations, dating back to the renaissance period, when they were often used by court women to make their eyes look bigger and more beautiful, but to the damage of their sight, belladonna is also the name of a poisonous plant which was used to make the drops, and in Dubravka Turi\u0107\u2019s film it is a symbol of fragility of our accustomed views and prejudices.<\/p>\n
