Trideset i vi\u0161e godina kasnije snimljen je istoimeni remake u re\u017eiji urugvajskog redatelja Fede Alvareza, kojeg je Hollywood objeru\u010dke prihvatio, \u017eeljan svje\u017ee redateljske krvi. Nova verzija &#8216;Zle smrti&#8217; pr\u0161ti specijalnim efektima punih krvi sve do same zavr\u0161nice. Zanimljivo je kako se redatelji moraju slu\u017eiti proku\u0161anim metodama kako bi pla\u0161ili publiku, a publika je ve\u0107 toliko navikla na takve proku\u0161ane metode, da joj je stra\u0161enje vi\u0161e smije\u0161no nego stra\u0161no. Petoro prijatelja su u osamljenoj ku\u0107i duboko u \u0161umi. Jedna od njih, ovisnica o drogi, odlu\u010di upravo na jednom takvom mjestu jo\u0161 jednom zapo\u010deti odvikavanje od ovisnosti. U me\u0111uvremenu, dok se ekipa bavi svojom prijateljicom, u ku\u0107i je prona\u0111ena tajanstvena &#8216;Knjiga smrti&#8217;. Sve bilo u redu, da onaj tko ju je prona\u0161ao nije naglas pro\u010ditao \u010detiri re\u010denice koje su poziv za opakog demona, koji odmah dolazi kako bi obavio svoj demonski posao. Nastaje krvavo orgijanje u kojem na po\u010detku sudionici ne shva\u0107aju o \u010demu se radi. A dok shvate, neki su ve\u0107 mrtvi, ubijeni na vrlo neugodne na\u010dine.
