Nakon dosada\u0161njih susreta s filmskim i koreografskim opusima autora koji su obilje\u017eili suvremenu plesnu scenu, novi ciklus posve\u0107en je jednoj od klju\u010dnih figura ameri\u010dkog eksperimentalnog filma: Mayi Deren.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">U utorak, <strong>9. lipnja 2026. u 19:00<\/strong>, publika \u0107e u Zagreba\u010dkom plesnom centru imati priliku pogledati izbor kratkih filmova Maye Deren, autorice \u010diji je rad sna\u017eno utjecao na razvoj avangardnog filma, plesnog filma i koreografskog mi\u0161ljenja o kameri. Deren je stvarala \u010detrdesetih i pedesetih godina 20. stolje\u0107a, a njezini filmovi i danas djeluju iznimno suvremeno: tijelo u njima nije tek predmet snimanja, nego ravnopravni partner kameri; pokret nije ilustracija, nego struktura; monta\u017ea nije samo tehni\u010dki postupak, nego koreografski princip.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; width: 100%;\" src=\" https:\/\/media.themoviedb.org\/t\/p\/w1066_and_h600_face\/otRHDr3aMJboh9N4AMbuKKnlHYL.jpg \" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fotografiju ustupio <strong><a href=\" https:\/\/www.themoviedb.org\/movie\/27040-meshes-of-the-afternoon \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> TMDB<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Meshes of the Afternoon (1943)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maya Deren smatra se jednom od najva\u017enijih autorica ameri\u010dkog eksperimentalnog filma. Njezini filmovi povezuju san, ritual, psiholo\u0161ki prostor, ples i filmsku formu u djela koja se opiru klasi\u010dnoj naraciji. Umjesto linearne pri\u010de, Deren gradi unutarnje krajolike: prostore prijelaza, ponavljanja, preobrazbe i napetosti izme\u0111u tijela i svijeta. U njezinu opusu kamera ne promatra ples izvana \u2014 ona ple\u0161e zajedno s izvo\u0111a\u010dima, mijenja prostorne odnose, ubrzava i usporava vrijeme, prekida kontinuitet i otvara mogu\u0107nost da se film misli kao koreografija.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Program donosi filmove koji su obilje\u017eili povijest avangardnog i plesnog filma: Meshes of the Afternoon, At Land, A Study in Choreography for Camera, Ritual in Transfigured Time, Meditation on Violence i The Very Eye of Night. U njima se prepoznaju teme koje \u0107e ostati trajno vezane uz Deren: potraga za identitetom, tijelo u ritualu, odnos unutarnjeg i vanjskog prostora, mo\u0107 ponavljanja, koreografija pogleda i mogu\u0107nost da filmsko vrijeme postane prostor plesa.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Opisi filmova<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Meshes of the Afternoon<\/strong><br \/>\n1943., kore\u017eija: Maya Deren i Alexander Hammid, 16 mm, 14 min<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Najpoznatiji film Maye Deren i jedno od temeljnih djela ameri\u010dke avangarde. <em>Meshes of the Afternoon<\/em> uvodi gledatelja u zatvoren, tjeskoban i hipnoti\u010dki prostor sna, \u017eudnje, straha i ponavljanja. Svakodnevni predmeti \u2014 klju\u010d, no\u017e, cvijet, ogledalo, stepenice \u2014 postaju znakovi unutarnjeg nemira i fragmentirane svijesti. Film se razvija kao kru\u017eenje kroz psiholo\u0161ki labirint u kojem se granica izme\u0111u stvarnog i zami\u0161ljenog neprestano pomi\u010de. Deren ovdje ne koristi film kako bi ispri\u010dala pri\u010du, nego kako bi oblikovala stanje: atmosferu opsesije, usamljenosti i rascijepljenog identiteta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>At Land<\/strong><br \/>\n1944., 16 mm, 14 min<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">U filmu <em>At Land<\/em> Maya Deren istra\u017euje identitet kao ne\u0161to nestalno, promjenjivo i uvijek izlo\u017eeno novim okolnostima. Protagonistica prolazi kroz niz prostora koji se \u010dine nepovezanima, ali ih film spaja logikom sna i unutarnjeg kretanja. Obala, dru\u0161tveni stol, \u0161ahovska igra i prirodni krajolici postaju dijelovi jedne iste mentalne geografije. Deren manipulira prostorom i vremenom tako da se tijelo kre\u0107e kroz svijet u kojem pravila nisu jasna, a osobni identitet mora se stalno iznova uspostavljati. Film je poetska meditacija o prilagodbi, upornosti i potrazi za vlastitim mjestom u svijetu koji se neprestano mijenja.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A Study in Choreography for Camera<\/strong><br \/>\n1945., 16 mm, 3 min<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kratko, ali iznimno va\u017eno djelo u povijesti plesnog filma. U <em>A Study in Choreography for Camera<\/em> Deren istra\u017euje \u0161to se doga\u0111a kada koreografija nije vezana uz kazali\u0161nu pozornicu, nego nastaje u susretu tijela, kamere i monta\u017ee. Pokret plesa\u010da povezuje udaljene prostore, a filmski rez stvara novu, nemogu\u0107u geografiju. Jedan plesni kontinuitet razvija se kroz razli\u010dita mjesta, kao da tijelo svojim pokretom preska\u010de prostorne granice. Film pokazuje Dereninu klju\u010dnu ideju: kamera nije neutralni promatra\u010d plesa, nego aktivni koreografski instrument.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ritual in Transfigured Time<\/strong><br \/>\n1946., 16 mm, 15 min<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">U filmu <em>Ritual in Transfigured Time<\/em> Deren povezuje dru\u0161tveni ritual, ples i filmsku transformaciju. Susreti, geste, pogledi i svakodnevni obrasci pona\u0161anja postupno se pretvaraju u koreografiranu strukturu. Film istra\u017euje kako forma mo\u017ee promijeniti zna\u010denje pokreta: obi\u010dna radnja postaje ritual, a ritual postaje ples. Deren se bavi trenutkom u kojem tijelo prelazi iz dru\u0161tvene u simboli\u010dku funkciju, iz realnog vremena u vrijeme filma. Rezultat je djelo koje istodobno djeluje kao psihodrama, plesna kompozicija i meditacija o pravilima zajednice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Meditation on Violence<\/strong><br \/>\n1948., 16 mm, 13 min<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Meditation on Violence<\/em> usmjerava pozornost na pokrete tradicionalnih kineskih borila\u010dkih vje\u0161tina, osobito \u0161kole Wu-Tang. Deren nasilje ne prikazuje kroz sukob ili spektakl, nego kroz disciplinu, ravnote\u017eu i unutarnju logiku pokreta. Kamera prati tijelo u transformaciji, bilje\u017ee\u0107i prijelaze izme\u0111u meko\u0107e i snage, kontrole i impulsa, obrane i napada. Film se mo\u017ee promatrati kao studija ritma i energije: borila\u010dka forma postaje ples, a ples postaje filozofska meditacija o stalnoj izmjeni suprotstavljenih principa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Very Eye of Night<\/strong><br \/>\n1959., 16 mm, 15 min<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">U <em>The Very Eye of Night<\/em> Deren stvara gotovo kozmi\u010dku viziju plesa. Snimljen s plesa\u010dima Metropolitan Ballet School, film koristi negativsku sliku kako bi tijela pretvorio u svjetlosne oblike koji lebde u tamnom prostoru. Plesa\u010di vi\u0161e ne pripadaju pozornici ni zemlji; kre\u0107u se poput zvijezda, konstelacija i nebeskih tijela. Film istra\u017euje odnos mikrokozmosa i makrokozmosa, unutarnjeg putovanja i svemirskog prostora. Koreografija se ovdje odvija u bezte\u017einskom, apstraktnom svijetu, gdje pokret postaje orbita, a tijelo trag svjetlosti u no\u0107i.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dodatni kontekst: Maya Deren i Haiti<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Va\u017ean dio Derenina umjetni\u010dkog i istra\u017eiva\u010dkog interesa bio je vezan uz ritual, trans i duhovne prakse. Godine 1946. dobila je Guggenheimovu stipendiju za rad u podru\u010dju kreativnog filma, a potom je izme\u0111u 1947. i 1951. snimala materijale na Haitiju, istra\u017euju\u0107i vudu rituale i njihovu dru\u0161tvenu, moralnu i duhovnu strukturu. Iako za \u017eivota nije dovr\u0161ila planirani film, njezini su materijali kasnije montirani u dokumentarno djelo The Divine Horsemen of Haiti, a njezino istra\u017eivanje objavljeno je i u knjizi Divine Horsemen: The Living Gods of Haiti.
