Radnja prati suicidalnog slikara koji se u osamljenom gradi\u0107u Ayacatzintla neo\u010dekivano zbli\u017eava sa skromnom staricom, pri \u010demu eksplicitne scene seksa i okrutnosti prema \u017eivotinjama potvr\u0111uju Reygadasovu provokativnu poetiku u istra\u017eivanju metafizi\u010dkog smisla \u017eivota.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kontroverzna meditacija <strong>Bitka u raju<\/strong> (2005) sukobljava radni\u010dku svakodnevicu i privilegirani \u017eivot pojedinca kroz pri\u010du o Marcusu, voza\u010du koji se nosi s krivnjom nakon \u0161to u neuspjelom poku\u0161aju otmice smrtno strada dijete, dok svakodnevno vozi zavodljivu \u0161efovu k\u0107er koja skriva dvostruki \u017eivot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nakon preispitivanja tjelesnosti i seksualnosti u prethodna dva ostvarenja, filmom <strong>Prigu\u0161ena svjetlost<\/strong> (2007) Reygadas se okre\u0107e pitanjima duhovnosti, donose\u0107i gotovo dokumentaristi\u010dki snimljenu pri\u010du o pobo\u017enom farmeru Johanu koji je u izoliranoj menonitskoj zajednici razapet izme\u0111u du\u017enosti prema supruzi Esther i ljubavi prema Marianne.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bogat biblijskim referencama kojima suprotstavlja animalne nagone, autobiografski obilje\u017een <strong>Post Tenebras Lux<\/strong> (2012) prati dobrostoje\u0107eg intelektualca Juana \u010dija se seoska svakodnevica pretvara u napetu introspektivnu borbu kada ga unutarnji demon, prikazan kroz oniri\u010dno crveno stvorenje, suo\u010dava s grijehom i krivnjom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Retrospektivu \u0107e zaklju\u010diti <strong>Na\u0161e vrijeme<\/strong> (2018), intimno ostvarenje o bra\u010dnom paru na ran\u010du za borbene bikove \u010diju otvorenu vezu naru\u0161ava dolazak \u0161armantnog trenera Phila.
