Studirala je dramaturgiju i knji\u017eevnost. Prvi roman &#8216;Staljinove krave&#8217; (2003.), pri\u010da o djevojci s po\u00adre\u00adme\u0107ajem u prehrani, lansirao ju je me\u0111u najutjecajnije mlade finske autore. Nominirana je za knji\u017eevnu nagradu Runeberg. Dvije godine poslije objavila je roman &#8216;Baby Jane&#8217;, u kojem progovara o anksioznom poreme\u0107aju i nasilju u lezbijskim vezama. Njezina prva predstava &#8216;\u010ci\u0161\u0107enje&#8217; postavljena je 2007. u Finskome narodnom kazali\u0161tu. Idu\u0107e godine napisala je istoimeni roman, koji je osvojio brojne nagrade u Finskoj i inozemstvu, uklju\u010duju\u0107i najve\u0107u knji\u017eevnu nagradu norve\u0161kih zemalja Nordic Council Literature Prize 2010.
