Pravo Ljudski Film Festival sa zadovoljstvom predstavlja treći online festivalski program Re:Versus. Kao najstarija programska sekcija festivala, Re:Versus donosi izbor pet filmova etabliranih dokumentarista u usponu. Ovogodišnji program otvara film Gosp. Bachman i njegov razred u režiji Marie Speth, intimni dokumentarni film koji prikazuje odnos između učitelja u osnovnoj školi i njegovih učenika. Njegove neobične metode su u sukobu sa složenom društvenom i kulturalnom stvarnošću njemačkog industrijskog provincijskog grada u kojem žive.

Sljedeća dva filma Novi gospel u režiji  Milo Raua Futura za koji režiju potpisuju Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi i Alice Rohrwacher prikazuju duh kolektivnog rada. Novi gospel istovremeno je  i snimak predstave uživo i pogled iza kulisa. Kroz film pratimo Sagneta koji srasta sa ulogom Isusa dok regrutuje radničke grupe u okolici Matere, za masovni protest pod nazivom “Revolt dostojanstva”. A dostojanstvo je upravo osnovni fokus ovog filma pri prikayivanju i aktivista i glumaca. Futura   istražuje šta dječaci i djevojčice od 15 do 20 misle o budućnosti, kroz seriju intervjua snimljenih tokom dugog putovanja po Italiji. U pitanju je portret zemlje, viđen kroz oči grupe tinejdžera koji govore o mjestima u kojima žive, svojim snovima, očekivanjima, željama i strahovima.

Futura ; Fotografiju ustupio Pravo Ljudski Film Festival

Posljednja dva filma selekcije su Druga strana rijeke u režiji Antonia Kilian i Domovi u režiji Laile Pakalnina. Druga strana rijeke priča priču o 19-godišnjoj Hali koja je prešla rijeku Eufrat kako bi pobjegla od prisilnog braka i porodice koja podržava IS. Ona nalazi utočište u vojnoj akademiji gdje se obučava da rukuje oružjem kako bi spašavala druge žene u opasnosti. Nakon što kurdske vojne snage preuzimaju grad od ISIS-a, vraća se kako bi oslobodila sestre iz roditeljske kuće. Domovi je jednostavan konceptualni radni film o ljudima, njihovim domovima i o snimanju filmova gdje rediteljica Pakalnina odlazi ljudima u domove, traži od njih da izađu van i snima ih kroz njihove prozore.

Na našoj platformi pravoljudski.org već je dostupan i specijalni program Annals of Crosscuts in Sarajevo. Ova selekcija se fokusira na naučno istraživanje, umjetnost i aktivizam te širenje ekoloških humanističkih znanosti i razvijena je u suradnji s Crosscuts Environmental Humanities Festival for Film & Text, Švedska.

Analima Crosscuts u Sarajevu predstavlja četiri filma: Prekasno je za kraj historije (Karl Palmas, Kalle Hairl); Uppland (Edward Lawrenson, Killian Doherty); MARAKÁ’NÀ (Grupo Popular Pesquisa em Ação)Proročanstvo trenutne vrijednosti (Evan Charles Marcus, Maja Nadine Lavprishotell).

Adrianna Quena, programska selektorica festivala, ukazala je na nekoliko pitanja koja program postavlja: Zašto su istraživači i naučnici tako često pisci, a gotovo nikad filmaši? Kako bi izgledalo akademsko pisanje fotoaparatom? I kako bi se film pojavio da je podvrgnut sličnom procesu slijepe recenzije kojem istraživači podvrgavaju svoje rukopise? Ovo su pitanja koja se istražuju u ovom zajedničkom programu, u vrijeme kada se sve više istraživača ozbiljno zanima za audiovizuelne registre i njihove mogućnosti izražavanja sa i izvan teksta. 

Šesnaesto izdanje Pravo Ljudski Film Festivala velikodušno je podržano od strane Nacionalne fondacije za demokratiju (Vašington) i mnogih drugih partnera, dok je specijalni program Više od svega, željela sam još malo ostati – suvremeni brazilski film uz podršku Ambasade Brazila u Bosni i Hercegovini.

Re:Versus and Annals of Crosscuts programme sections are available at Pravo Ljudski online platform

We are pleased to present our third online festival programme Re:Versus. As the oldest festival programme section, Re:Versus brings a selection of five films by established documentary filmmakers in trajectory. This year’s programme opens up with Mr Bachman and His class by Maria Speth, an intimate documentary portraying the bond between an elementary school teacher and his students. His unconventional methods clash with the complex social and cultural realities of the provincial German industrial town they live in.

Next two films The New Gospel by Milo Rau and Futura by Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi & Alice Rohrwacher capture the spirit of collective work.  The New Gospel is both a live recording of the play, and a glimpse behind the scenes. We see Sagnet grow into his role as Jesus, while in between mobilizing groups of laborers working nearby Matera into a large-scale protest dubbed the “Revolt of Dignity.” And dignity is precisely what this film is aiming towards in its portraits of activists and actors alike. Futura explores what boys and girls from 15 to 20 think about the future, through a series of interviews filmed during a long journey across Italy. It is a portrait of the country, as seen through the eyes of a group of teens who talk about the places they live in, their dreams, expectations, desires and fears.

Last two films of selection are The Other Side of the River by Antonia Kilian and Homes by Laila Pakalnina. The Other Side of the River tells a story of 19-year-old Hala that crossed the Euphrates River to escape a forced marriage and her IS supporting family. She finds shelter in a Military Academy where she is trained with a weapon to free other women in danger. After the Kurdish military takes over her city from ISIS, she returns to free her sisters from her parents’ house. Homes is a simple conceptual work film about people, their homes and about filmmaking where director Pakalnina goes to peoples’ homes, asks them to go outside and film them through their own windows.

Already available on our pravoljudski.org platform is the special programme Annals of Crosscuts in Sarajevo. This selection focuses on scientific research, art and activism for the expansion of the Environmental Humanities and it is developed in collaboration with the Crosscuts Environmental Humanities Festival for Film & Text, Sweden.

Annals of Crosscuts in Sarajevo is presenting five films: Too Late for History to End by Karl Palmås, Kalle Sanner; Uppland by Edward Lawrenson, Killian Doherty; MARAKÁ’NÀ by Grupo Popular Pesquisa em Ação; Prophesy of Present Value by Evan Charles Marcus, Maya Nadine Billig.

Adrianna Quena, one of the programme curators, points to several questions the programme raises: Why are researchers and scholars so often writers, and almost never filmmakers? What would academic writing with a camera look like? And how would film appear if it was subjected to a similar blind peer-review process that researchers subject their manuscripts to? These are the kinds of questions explored in this collaborative program, at a time when more and more researchers are taking serious interest in the audiovisual registers and its possibilities of expression with and beyond text.
