PSSST! 6. Festival nijemog filma
Centar za kulturu Trešnjevka ove godine po šesti put organizira PSSST! Festival nijemog filma, koji će se održati od 9. do 11. studenoga 2012. u prostorima Centra za kulturu Trešnjevka, Park Stara Trešnjevka 1, Zagreb.
Ovaj je Festival u Hrvatskoj jedinstven jer temu nijemog filma prezentira na atraktivan način, koji publici nudi nešto više od retrospektive u okviru kronološkog pregleda razvoja filma. I na razini Europe, unatoč brojnim filmskim manifestacijama, nedostaje inicijativa koja bi umjetnicima pružila priliku da se izraze kroz ovaj specifičan način pripovijedanja, što dokazuje da je Festival jedinstven i na globalnoj razini.
Cilj Festivala je upoznavanje nijemog filma u drukčijem svjetlu, kroz fuziju moderne tehnologije i primarne filmske forme.
U natjecateljskom dijelu programa, uz glazbenu pratnju, bit će prikazani domaći i međunarodni nijemi filmovi svih rodova.
Osim natjecateljskog dijela, publika može uživati i u projekcijama remek-djela nijemog filma, kako u filmovima iz zlatnoga doba tako i u suvremenim ostvarenjima.
U današnje vrijeme kada tehnološki napredak omogućava snimanje filma uređajima koji su dostupni svima, svatko je pozvan prezentirati svoju viziju nijemog filma.
Stoga, pozivamo autore profesionalce i amatere entuzijaste da na Festivalu nijemog filma predstave svoje radove te tako daju umjetnički i kreativni doprinos manifestaciji.
Rok za prijavu filmova u natjecateljskom programu je 15. listopada 2012.

PSSST! 6. Silent film festival
This year the Trešnjevka Cultural Center is organizing PSSST! Silent film festival for the sixth time. The festival is taking place in the Trešnjevka Culture Center from the 9th to 11th of November 2012.
This festival is unique in Croatia because silent film is presented in an attractive manner, which offers the audience something more than just a retrospective review of the chronological development of film. Despite numerous film manifestations in Europe, there is a lack of initiative that would give artists a chance to express themselves through this specific way of storytelling, which makes this festival unique – even on a global level.
The festival aims to introduce silent film in a different light, through the fusion of modern technology and the primary medium of film.
In the competition part of the program, various national and international silent films from an array of different genres will be shown with musical accompaniment.
In addition to the competition, the audience can enjoy the projections of masterpieces of silent film, films from the golden age of silent film, as well as contemporary works.
At the present time, when technological progress allows filming with equipment available to all, everyone is invited to present their take on silent film.
Therefore, we invite both professional filmakers and ameteur enthusiasts alike to present their work at the festival and thus make their own artistic and creative contribution to the the event.
The deadline for entries in the competition part of the program is October 15th, 2012.
